A Kushtia court on Monday sentenced two people to life term imprisonment for killing a young man in Daulatpur upazila of Gaibandha in 2018.

Kushtia District and Sessions Judge Arup Kumar Goswami handed down the verdict this noon.

The convicts are Sajib Hossain, 32, son of Alamgir Hossain, hailing from Haydaryer Char area in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia and his sister-in-law Sima Khatun, 25, from the same area.

According to case statement, the convicts killed Roni, son of Naharul Islam, from the same area, over extramarital affair and buried his body on January 24, 2018.

Later, the victim’s father filed a murder case with the Daulatpur police station in this connection.
